Dedicated to the memory of David Hardaker

This site is a tribute to David Hardaker. He is much loved and will always be remembered by his loving family and friends.

David was son to the late Jack and Margaret Hardaker, much loved brother of Julie, and uncle to Donna and Mark. He was also husband of Mavis.

David was known for his dry sense of humour and his stubbornness, but always had a kind word for anybody, and was always willing to help people out, regularly helping his neighbours do things, fix things, and help with odd jobs that needed doing.

David was never happier than when he was outside in the great outdoors, and not content with just being on the land, he also loved being in the air, with aeroplanes and aircraft of all kinds being a huge part of his life. David was incredibly well respected in the Remote Control model aeroplane community, took great pride in designing model planes, and taught light aircraft flying. He always had words of encouragement to other enthusiasts, and would share his detailed knowledge with all others.

David will be missed by a huge number of people, and will be held close in their hearts.

A celebration of David Hardaker's life

David's funeral service is at Shay Grange Crematorium on Tuesday 25th February 2025 at 10:30 am, and all who knew David are invited to attend. There will be a private gathering afterwards for close family and friends, and details for this will be given by David's sister Julie.

Please wear something casual and comfortable whilst we celebrate David's life together. There is no need for black tie, although of course you can if you would rather.

Donations in lieu of flowers please, and there will be a donation box provided as you exit the chapel for anybody who would like to leave a donation in David's memory to his 2 chosen charities - Parkinsons UK and Yorkshire Cat Rescue.

Family flowers only please, but donations if so desired can be given in David's memory to be shared between Parkinsons UK, and the Yorkshire Cat Rescue, owing to David's love of all animals, but especially cats.
